papagé is a fictional name my son came up with for his pacifier and it seemed appropriate, when we were looking for a name for our company. just as sam's pacifier was special to him, so are the products we have designed and the fabrics we discovered.

with my background as an interior designer and being married to a product designer, I was always on the search for beautiful products and cool design. my focus changed in 2002, when we became parents. our world changed dramatically, but we were determined to keep our sense of style.

as an interior designer, who worked in corporate interiors and then for a modern home retailer, it was obvious to me that good designs needed the perfect textiles to complete the package. it's the icing on the cake, textiles that can perform and are unique, have the ability to change a well-designed product into a spectacular object that speaks to your sense of style. that's where papagé is different, we have partnered with industry leading textile mills to use fabrics that are rarely, if ever seen in consumer products. many of them are sustainable, using recycled content in the fabrics and we will continue to pursue that as we go forward, in a greater number of our materials.
